INTRODUCTION
This data was collected from the Canadian Addiction Survey (CAS) of 2004 in the Survey Analysis Database (SDA), this provided aid in developing illustrations and figures to showcase how drug and alcohol abuse affects individuals 15 years and older in Canada. CAS was the first of its kind to dedicate a survey solely on drug and alcohol abuse, in 1994. Since then it has been modified and redeveloped.
DATA COLLECTED & PURPOSE OF DATA COLLECTION
A two-stage (telephone household, respondent) random sample selected by random-digit-dialling (RDD), stratified by 21 regional areas, with a minimum of 1,000 respondents sampled in each province. Through the SDA tool, we have retrieved numerical and qualitative variables in order to find the variability and central tendency in order to illustrate bar charts and histograms that depict our two hypotheses.
